Pediatric Hepatology


It is a branch of science that deals with the identification of the diseases that have an effect on the liver, gall bladder and exocrine gland.   A hepatologist manages disorders in these areas. Hepatology was historically a subspecialty of medical specialty; however recent advances within the understanding of this subspecialty have created it a field of its own.



Hepatologists deal most often with hepatitis and diseases associated with alcohol. Liver disease impacts several folks worldwide and has been related to variety of poor outcomes like carcinoma and liver transplantation. Notably, hepatitis B and viral hepatitis oft cause liver cancers. Alcohol consumption has been related to liver disease and different complications.
