Christina Yuen Ki Leung has completed two Bachelor’s degrees in England, BSc Management Sciences degree followed by the BPharm Pharmacy degree. Following the registration as a Pharmacist in the UK, she has worked in different London Teaching Hospitals for 16 years. In the last 12 years in UK, she has specialized in Pediatrics (especially in PICU and Pediatric Liver), Obstetrics and Gynecology. She published two articles relating to drugs use in pediatric liver diseases in the UK Children Liver Diseases Magazine. She is also a Registered Pharmacist in Hong Kong. Since 2012, she has been working as the Senior Pharmacist (Clinical Pharmacy in Charge) at the HKU-SZH in China. She is also the Honorary Tutor at the University of Hong Kong. She delivers lectures to the Master and Undergraduate Pharmacy students relating to drugs use in Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Robert Rapaport, MD, is professor of pediatrics and chief of the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He holds the Emma Elizabeth Sullivan Professor of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes Chair at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr Rapaport is a long-time member of the Pediatric Endocrine Society, the Endocrine Society, and the Growth Hormone Research Society and has served in various capacities in these organizations. He is an elected member of the American Pediatric Society. Dr Rapaport is also active in both the American Diabetes Association and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. He has served on the editorial boards of the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, the Journal of Pediatric Endocrinology & Metabolism, Pediatric Endocrinology Reviews, and other publications. Currently, he is a senior editor of Endocrine Connections and the Journal of Diabetes, among others. He has published numerous peer-reviewed publications, chapters, and reviews and more recently served as editor of several editions of Endocrinology and Metabolism Clinics of North America dedicated to Pediatric endocrinology.

Javier Fiz Perez Ph.D., Psychotherapist and Professor of Psychology at the European University of Rome, where he cooperates also as Delegate for International Research Development. He is Co-Director of the Laboratory of Applied Business and Health (Organizational Psychology); graduated in Philosophy, Psychology and Social Bioethics, obtaining specialization in Executive Business Administration (EMBA) after his PhD. He is a Member of the Advisory Board of the Academic Senate of the Accademia Tiberina. Professor Fiz Perez is Coordinator of the Scientific Committee of The International School of Economics and Ethics (Italy) and collaborates with the International Academy for Economic and Social Development (AISES), for which he has been Vice President for Spain and Latin America. He is a Scientific Research Director for the European Institute of Positive Psychology in Madrid (IEPP) and also a Member of the Scientific Committee of the International Institute Jacques Maritain. He is a Member of several Committees of Scientific Journals and Director of the International Network for Social and Integrated Development (INSID). Professor Fiz Perez has more than 150 national and international pubblications. He is Chief Editor of “Sviluppo Integrale” (Persiani Editori Bologna) and also collaborates with ALETEIA. SAS as Director of the International Scientific Committee, actually being International Director for Development in Italy, Spain and Latin America for SoEI - UK (Society of Emotional Intelligence - UK)

Gary B. Melton is professor of pediatrics in the University of Colorado School of Medicine, professor of community and behavioral health in the Colorado School of Public Health, adjoint professor of psychology at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, and editor-in-chief of International Journal on Child Maltreatment: Research, Policy, and Practice. The author of more than 350 publications and a current or past member of approximately 25 editorial boards, he formerly served as co-editor of Child Abuse & Neglect and the American Journal of Orthopsychiatry. For 30 years, he directed interdisciplinary centers and institutes (usually as founding director) at, successively, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, the University of South Carolina, and Clemson University. He retains an adjunct appointment at Clemson as professor of youth, family, and community studies. He is currently visiting professor of education and psychology at the University of Virginia. Dr. Melton has served as president of the American Orthopsychiatric Association (Ortho; now the Global Alliance for Behavioral Health and Social Justice), the Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice (Division 37 of the American Psychological Association), the American Psychology-Law Society (Division 41 of APA), and Childwatch International, a global network of child research centers that is sponsored by the Norwegian Foreign Ministry. He has received four Distinguished Contributions Awards from APA, an unmatched achievement. He has also been honored for research and public service by two APA divisions, the American Psychological Foundation, Psi Chi (the national collegiate honorary society in psychology), Ortho, Prevent Child Abuse America, and the American Professional Society on Abuse of Children. His co-authored treatise Psychological Evaluations for the Courts: A Handbook for Mental Health Professionals and Lawyers, now in its fourth edition, was recognized by Choice (American Library Association) on its annual list of outstanding academic books.

Pediatrics

Dr. Gerald Katzman received his MD degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine in 1968. He served a Pediatric Residency at the University of Chicago and the Children’s Hospital of Michigan. After serving two years as a physician in the US Navy, he completed a fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at Temple University Hospital. Clinical positions have included Director of Nurseries at The Toledo Hospital, Chairman of Pediatrics at Sinai Hospital of Detroit and Chief of Pediatrics at Detroit Riverview Hospital. Dr. Katzman has been a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Wayne State University School of Medicine since 1986. He received the designation of Certified Physician Executive by the American College of Physician Executives. In recent years, Dr. Katzman has developed an interest in the teaching of hatred to children and the potentially violent actions that result from such indoctrination. Potential solutions to this problem have been suggested in a series of papers dealing with the subject. Explaining the psychodynamics of hatred development through an emphasis on recent understandings in neuropsychology has been a particular focus of these publications.

Dr. Bittmann has started research in the area of ??"virtual reality" for the treatment of disabled children with diseases such as cerebral palsy, Down syndrome and congenital syndromes. Under the name of "Handicap Lab", initial attempts are being made on disabled children to condition and improve the cognitive and motor functions, which are for the most part severely limited in these children, using "virtual reality". The children immerse themselves in a virtual world that encourages them to perform certain tasks and movements. The first attempts by means of VR glasses are to generate motor movements to train the mostly atrophic muscles of these children and to promote cognitive abilities. In Germany, this research is still in its infancy, in the US, some studies are already on this interesting topic (see work by Judith German, University of Washington, Seattle published 2017 in the journal "Pediatric Physical Therapy": "Virtual Reality and Serious Games in Neurorehabilitation of Children and Adults: Prevention, Plasticity, and Participation "). First experiments are carried out on cerebral paretic children. We will report on the first results and experiences on the Ped Mind page.
